Heavy rains expected in Nilgiri, Coimbatore and the surrounding hilly regions

Synopsis

Chennai might not get heavy rain but the sky would be partly cloudy. Four places in Tamil Nadu have recorded a maximum of 37.77 degrees Celsius. It was 38.889 degrees Celsius in Ramanathapuram’s Thondi.

Heavy rain is expected in Nilgiri and Coimbatore in the next 24 hours. South West monsoon has intensified over Kerala because of which the hilly areas in Nilgiri and Coimbatore received heavy rainfall. 

Following this, the heat waves would cause moderate rainfall in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry. Chennai might not get heavy rain, but the sky would be partly cloudy. As per the weather forecast recorded on Wednesday, four places in Tamil Nadu has been recorded a maximum of 37.77 degrees Celsius. It was 38.889 degrees Celsius in Ramanathapuram’s Thondi.

Rain

As per the weather forecast recorded on Wednesday, it was reported that Kovai Chinnakallar received a rainfall of 130 mm and Valparai of 100 mm. Colachel, Papanasam, Periyar and Devala have been recorded with a rainfall of 50 mm. Kuzhithurai and Thuckalay were recorded with 40 mm of rainfall. 

Places such as Sengottai, Pechiparai, Nagercoil, Boothapandi, Tenkasi, Naduvattam, Eraniel, Pollach, Tirupattur and Manimuthar have received moderate rainfall.
