Father-in-law kills daughter-in-law, her brother
Synopsis
His son and daughter-in-law were living separately due to mutual differences. The incident happened when the woman reached her in-laws for reconciliation with her family. The woman's sister was hospitalized with severe injuries whereas her brother died on spot along with her.
Kosalan (65) belonged to Pallikaranai. Four years ago his son Vinayaka Moorthy (28) got married to a computer engineer Varalakshmi (26) from Bangalore. However, just three months into matrimony, she had to move back to Bangalore because of differences with her husband.
After four years, in an attempt to reconcile with her husband, Varalakshmi decided to meet her in-laws and husband once again. So, she was accompanied by her brother Kothandanraman (30), sister Bhavani (22) and her friend Malathi to her in-law's house.
It was said that only Kosalan was at home when they reached. As they were talking, both Kosalan and Kothandanraman got into a heated argument, which soon broke out into a fight. Angered by this, he brought a sickle and attacked Kothandanraman and Varalakshmi. They both died on the spot.
Bhavani was hospitalized with severe injuries.
Varalakshmi’s friend ran from the spot. The police was informed by the neighbors. Kosalan was arrested. He is being subjected to police inquiry.
