Teen burglar boy surprises police on being caught, turns out to be a girl

Synopsis

The girl dressed up as a boy to steal things from unassuming people. She made friends with a boys' gang and helped them with burglary. A number of gadgets were recovered from her. 

Police were in for a surprise when they got hold of a notorious gang of teen burglars. One of them turned out to be an 18-year old girl. Police recovered I-phones, laptops and other valuables from them. The woman identified herself as Dayalan to the rest of the gang members and made friends with them in Ambattur. 

On Wednesday night, two of the minor boys walked into a house in Bethanayakan street in Kondithope. The house belonged to a 60-year old businessman, Manivannan. He was at the second floor of the house when he heard noises from the ground floor and noticed a young boy escaping with a bag. When he raised an alarm, the public caught hold of the boy and handed him over to the police. The boy led the police to the other two. On further investigations, it was found that one of the three was an 18-year old woman who dresses up like a man to steal. 

This gang of teenage offenders stole from unlocked houses. Wherever they found an open door, they would enter that house and steal bags, gadgets or purses. Investigations also revealed that the gang stole from the house of an advocate in Kondithope before entering the businessman's house. Seven Wells Police have registered a case against the gang and have recovered I-phones, laptops from them.
