Chennai: Over Rs 13 lakh collected as fine for traffic violation in a month

In a week’s time, an amount of Rs.13 lakh was collected as penalty from people who violated the traffic rules in Chennai

From June 25 to July 1 an amount of Rs.13,37,800 was collected from 8,259 vehicle owners. 

For the drunk and drive crime 494 people were fined 

3,720 people were fined for not wearing helmet

2,346 people were fined for crossing the speed limit

In the same way people without driving license and people caught for triple riding on two wheelers were fined as well.
