DMK president MK Stalin has shown the video evidence of the cash-for-votes scam to the members in the Assembly on June 16, 2017. He has also said that he has many relevant documents that would justify the video evidence. The Speaker, P Dhanapal, advised him to handover those evidences in the assembly.
Stalin and DMK had staged a walkout on June 15, 2017, after the Speaker had rejected Stalin's proposal to discuss the controversial bribe video in the assembly.
Stalin had again sought the permission to bring up the video controversy but the speaker strongly refused. Hence Stalin and his party members walked out of the Assembly again.
“From the past three days we are requesting to bring up the cash-for-votes issue for discussion, yet we are denied permission. The Speaker said that he would let us talk on this issue if evidences were submitted. But today, even after submitting the evidences, permission was denied. The Speaker said he cannot let us talk on this issue unless he decides whether the documents would serve as evidence or not,” Stalin said to the reporters.
