Will Sreesanth's comeback game be at his home ground?

Synopsis

The BCCI opposed the plea by Sreesanth to relax the life ban on him so that he could play in county cricket in England.

The Supreme Court of India today told Delhi High Court to decide by the end of July an appeal against a trial court discharging several cricket players including S Sreesanth for IPL Spot-fixing.

Sreesanth has a lifetime ban awarded by the Board of Control For Cricket In India in 2013. He has appealed to the apex court after the Kerala High Court reinstated the ban on him.

A bench headed by Chief Justice of India Deepak Mishra said that they understand his 'anxiety' to play but would like to wait for the High Court 's decision on the appeal made by Delhi Police with regards to discharging of the players for the IPL Spot-fixing scam.

The Kerala High Court on August 7, 2017, lifted the ban headed by a single bench Judge but the BCCI's plea against this forced the court to reimpose the ban.

However, the BCCI has refused to remove its disciplinary decision.
