Last year, Virat Kohli and his bat were in the news. Not just for their performance but also for how much the bat earned him just for featuring a sponsor's name. MRF is his generous sponsor who has just upped the game in that department as well.
As per a report, the skipper, who uses an MRF bat, got around Rs 8 crore for putting the sticker on his bat in 2016. At that time it was Rs 2 crore more than MS Dhoni’s bat sponsorship with Spartan. This year the deal’s numbers have multiplied like his runs.
A report in The Economic Times, quotes an anonymous source as confirming that the captain of the Indian cricket team has renewed his bat sponsorship deal with MRF for eight years for more than Rs 100 crore.
Shikhar Dhawan, another cricketer who sports the MRF moniker earns Rs 3 crore. Apart from that many other cricketing greats like Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara and more have been signed on by MRF previously.
As of last year, news was that Suresh Raina and Rohit Sharma earn approximately Rs 2.5-3 crore and Rs 3 crore respectively for using the Ceat stickers on their bats, while Ajinkya Rahane is paid around Rs 1.5 crore for his bat footwear and apparel together.
