It was a valiant effort from Indian female boxer Lovlina Borgohain in her welterweight semis bout at the Tokyo Olympics, losing to Busenaz Sürmeneli of Turkey on Wednesday. Nevertheless, the loss did not allow her to be deprived of a medal, as she won the bronze medal in the process.

With this medal, she helped India win its third medal at the competition and its second bronze. The other medal winners happen to be weightlifter Mirabai Chanu (silver) and badminton star PV Sindhu (bronze).
