The Indian boxing suffered yet another heartbreak on Friday at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Lightweight boxer Simranjit Kaur lost her pre-quarters bout to Sudaporn Seesondee of Thailand.

India's boxing contingent continued to disappoint in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Sudaporn Seesondee of Thailand knocked out lightweight boxer Simranjit Kaur 5-0 in the pre-quarters on Friday.

It was confusing initially, as it seemed Simranjit was in control, catching Seesondee on the back foot with a balanced approach and counter-attacks. However, after the judges ruled the opening round in favour of the Thai, the Indian became somewhat reckless thereon.

Owing to Simranjit's ultra-aggressive mood, Seesondee was able to land a couple of left hooks. Furthermore, the Indian made defensive errors once again to rule the round in favour of the Thai.

In the final round, Simranjit needed a miracle to get over Seesondee. Nevertheless, it seemed to be an easy ride for the Thai, winning the bout 5-0, who happens to be a twin world champion and a silver medalist at the Asian Games 2018.
