India failed to click in yet another category at the Tokyo Olympics. Female race walkers Priyanka Goswami and Bhawna Jat failed to impress, finishing 17th and 32nd, respectively.
Priyanka, who happens to hold the national record, could clock 1:32:36, which was way outside her record of 1:28:45, she had scripted in February. Being held under hot and humid conditions, she was a frontrunner for some time but fell back after crossing the 8km mark.

As for Bhawna, she was never really the frontrunner, lagging right from the start and could clock only 1:37:38, against her personal best of 1:29:54. While Italy's Antonella Palmisano won the gold, with a time of 1:29:12, Sandra Lorena Arenas of Colombia won the silver with 1:29:37, followed by China's Hong Liu for the bronze with 1:29:57.
