The Indian contingent was further boosted for its Tokyo Olympics stint. Female golfer Diksha Dagar has managed to seal her place for the mega event.
It all happened on Thursday after Paula Reto of South Africa and Sarah Schober of Austria pulled out of the event. Diksha was on the reserve list, while International Golf Federation confirmed the same via Indian Golf Union, reports PTI.
Meanwhile, the IGU and the Indian Olympic Association is making the last-minute preparations to arrange everything for Diksha's travel to Tokyo. She would be joining Aditi Ashok while the event starts on August 5.

It would be Diksha's maiden stint at the Olympics, while overall, it would be her second, having featured in the 2017 Deaf Olympics, where she won the silver. She also featured in the Asian Games 2018 before turning professional in 2019 and has won the Ladies European Tour title on a couple of occasions.
Before her Olympics call-up, she was scheduled to feature in Ireland's ISPS Handa Invitational. Also, she would not have to undergo a rigid quarantine upon arrival in Tokyo, while her father cum coach Naren Dagar might have to as he has just returned to India.
