
The India contingent ended its shooting campaign at the Tokyo Olympics, which was a poor show all around. On Monday, in the men's 50 m rifle three positions qualifiers, Aishwary Tomar and Sanjeev Rajput failed to seal the finals berth.
While Tomar finished 21st, Rajput was placed 32nd, as only the top eight qualified for the final round. Tomar scored 1,167 points, firing 63 inner tens, while Rajput, featuring in his third Olympics, scored 1,157 and fired 55 inner tens.

The score to make the cut was 1,176. Consequently, the Indian shooters have failed to draw a single medal in successive Olympic Games.
