Indian rowers Arvind Singh and Arjun Lal Jat have qualified for the semi-finals of the lightweight men's double sculls event of rowing at Tokyo 2020

The event has two rowers in a sculling boat using two oars each. The narrow, long and broadly semi-circular in cross-section boats helps reduce the drag.

Arjun Jat Lal sitting in the bow position and Arvind Singh holding the stroke position clocked 6:51.36.

In this event, the Polish pair took first place with a time of 6:43.44, and the Spanish pair took second place with a time of 6:45.71.

The maximum weight set for male competitors in the sport is 72.5 kg, and the average weight cannot exceed 70 kg.
