Djokovic defeated Yibing in a four-set match, 6-3, 4-6, 6-2, 6-4, to advance to the second round of the prestigious grass-court Grand Slam event. After winning the opening set, the seven-time Wimbledon champion went down to his Chinese counterpart in the second set, but quickly regained his dominance to cruise through the third and fourth sets and seal the victory.
With this victory, Novak Djokovic earned his 103rd match win at Wimbledon, just three wins away from breaking his former Swiss rival Roger Federer’s record of 105 match wins at the All England Club.
