Sanjay Bangar to be India head coach for Zimbabwe tour

Synopsis

Former India batsman Sanjay Bangar has been named the head coach for India's upcoming tour of Zimbabwe. Bharat Arun and R Sridhar, the former bowling coach and fielding coach respectively, find no place in the touring party.

Former first-class cricketer, Abhay Sharma, who has worked alongside Rahul Dravid with the U-19 team, has been appointed the fielding coach.

The MS Dhoni-led team is scheduled to play three T20s and three ODIs in Zimbabwe, beginning June 11. The selectors have named a largely inexperienced squad for the tour, with Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja all being 'rested'.
