RCB vs GT, IPL 2025 highlights: Butter, Sudharsan, Rutherford power GT to 8-wicket win

Rajat Patidar: Not 200, we were targeting around 190 after the poiwerplay, but losing early wickets harmed this match. I think the intent was good, but we shouldn't have lost as many as 3 wickets in the PP, it was one wicket too many. The conditions did get better, the bowlers were amazing trying to defend this total, to take this chase into the 18th over was amazing to watch. The way Jitesh, Liam Livingstone, and Tim David, the way they batted, it was a positive for us. We're confident about the batting line-up, they're showing some positive intent which is very good for us.

Sherfane Rutherford hit a maximum off Josh Hazlewood to take the Gujarat Titans over the line in their 170-run chase. Jos Buttler was the star performer with a brilliant innings of 73 off 39 balls. Sai Sudharsan continued his impressive run of form as he scored 49 off 36 balls, missing out on his third fifty on the trot of the season. Apart from winning six, Rutherford contributed to GT's run-chase with an innings of 30 off 18 balls.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru bowlers trying to hard to get rid of Jos Buttler, but the right-handed batter remains unfazed, punishing any lose deliveries with precision.

Sai Sudharsan impressive run of form continues as he is nearing third fifty on the trot of the IPL 2025. The young batter shining at the grand stage. GT need 65 off 48 balls.

After the dismissal of skipper Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan took charge of Gujarat Titans' 170-run chase. Along with Jos Buttler, Sudharsan built a steady partnership to keep Gujarat Titans' chase on track. GT need 95 off 66 balls.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru set a 170-run target for Gujarat Titans to chase despite early collapse in their batting. Liam Livingstone was the star batter for the hosts as he played a brilliant innings of 54 off 30 balls. Jitesh Sharma (33) and Tim David (32) made valuable contributions to the team's batting. For Gujarat Titans, Mohammed Siraj led the bowling attack with figures of 3/19 in 4 overs/

After conceding 16 runs on the three consecutive deliveries, including a six and two fours, Prasidh Krishna had a last laugh as he dismissed Tim David (32) in the final over. RCB ended the innings with 169/8 on the board.

Liam Livingstone smashed two sixes on the trot against Rashid Khan to bring up his well-deserved fifty in the 18th over of the RCB's innings. Livingstone stepped up for the when he was needed the most.

WICKET! Sai Kishore delivered length delivery and Krunal Pandya (5) attempted to push the ball towards leg side, but got the leading edge and ball tossed gently towards Kishore.

WICKET! Sai Kishore bowls a slower delivery that spins away from off stump, using the angle from over the wicket. Jitesh Sharma (33) steps down the pitch but doesn’t reach the ball properly. He mishits it off the toe of the bat, sending it in the air, and Tewatia moves in from long-on to take an easy catch in the 13th over.

Krunal Pandya joined Liam Livingstone at the crease

DROPPED! Livingstone steps forward but isn't close to the ball. He still tries to hit a lofted shot, but his bottom hand slips off as he swings too early. The ball goes high into the air, and Tewatia waits for a long time at the long-on boundary before taking the catch.

After early collapse in RCB's batting line-up, Jitesh Sharma and Liam Livingstone steadied the ship, with the former smashing GT pacer Ishant Sharma for 16 runs in the 9th over.

WICKET! Mohammed Siraj bowled a fast ball at 144 kph. Phil Salt (14) tried to attack again, but this time he couldn't keep up with the speed. Before he could bring his bat down, the ball hit the stumps and knocked off the bails.

SIX! Phil Salt hit the joint-longest six in the ongoing IPL 2025. Mohammed Siraj delivered a short of length ball and Phil Salt swung his bat and hit it straight over the mid-wicket. The ball went out of the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

WICKET! A fast delivery on a good length around off stump by Mohammed Siraj. Devdutt Padikkal (6) moves forward to go for a big shot, but the ball swings in sharply, beats his inside edge, and crashes into the top of off stump.

WICKET! Arshad Khan bowls a short delivery aimed at the body. Kohli (7) tries to pull but doesn't get enough room and can't keep the shot down. The ball goes straight to the Prasidh Krishna at deep backward square, who takes a clean catch.

FOUR! Virat Kohli played a beautiful cover drive off a good-length ball outside off from Mohammed Siraj. Siraj's delivery was not bad, but Kohli's shot was just too good.

Shubman Gill (GT): We'll bowl first. Looks like a good wicket. We've seen the conditions don't change much. We're all about reducing our unforced errors. We'll try to finetune the areas that need it. Kagiso misses out due to personal reasons so we've got Arshad Khan back.

Rajat Patidar (RCB): Would've bowled first as well because it's a new surface. It's pretty hard and won't change much. The way boys are chipping in gives a lot of confidence as a captain. We love this crowd. The way they love us and the support we've always received is incredible. Same team
