Wedding firing: Jadeja gets a clean chit

The Gujarat Director General of Police, PP Pandey, has termed the celebratory firing that took place at cricketer Ravindra Jadeja's wedding a "minor issue".

"It's a minor issue. I am from UP. Hundred to two hundred rounds are fired in every marriage there," Pandey told television reporters on Monday.

Pandey went on to add that such incidents are "common in marriages".

The 27-year-old left-handed batsman tied the nuptial knot with Riva Solanki in a ceremony at Rajkot on Sunday where revellers opened celebratory firing in the air.
