PCB sends notice to BCCI for not fulfilling Memorandum of Understanding

Pakistan Cricket Board claimed that they have incurred huge losses as India did not tour them in December 2015.  The two Boards had signed a Memorandum of Understanding back in 2014. 

As we all know that India and Pakistan have not played against each other in any bilateral series since 2012. They have only collided in the ICC events and in the Asia Cups. According to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the two cricket boards - Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), India and Pakistan were supposed to play a number of bilateral series between 2015 and 2023.

But BCCI has not fulfilled the MoU and as a result, PCB has sent them a legal notice. PCB apparently has incurred a huge amount of loss because India did not tour in December 2015. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board has not disclosed the amount.

According to the ICC Dispute Resolution Committee's rules, an ICC member will have to resort to good-faith negotiations and make three attempts to resolve the dispute. Therefore, PCB will not wait for BCCI to reply to their notice. BCCI has seven days to reply to that notice.

PCB also confirmed that Pakistan will not be touring India next year because the cycle of bilateral fixtures had to start with Pakistan as hosts, according to the Mou. However, India and Pakistan have not played a bilateral series since the 2008 terror attacks in Mumbai. The last bilateral series between the arch-rivals happened in India in 2007.
