Former India and Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni and his wife Sakshi Singh Dhoni arrived in Dehradun to attend Rishabh Pant’s sister's wedding. Pant’s sister, Sakshi Pant, is set to tie the knot with businessman Ankit Chaudhary at a secret location in Mussourie.
Rishabh Pant, who was part of the India squad that won the Champions Trophy 2025 triumph by defeating New Zealand in the final, returned from Dubai and headed straight to Dehradun for his sister’s wedding. Indian wicketkeeper-batter is some of his teammates and MS Dhoni is one of the guests in his list for his sister’s wedding.
In a video that went viral on social media, MS Dhoni and Sakshi were seen exiting the Dehradun Airport in Uttarakhand. The former Chennai Super Kings captain was in Chennai for the preparatory camp ahead of IPL 2025 and left for Delhi in the morning before heading to Dehradun to attend Rishabh Pant’s sister Sakshi’s wedding celebrations. The wedding will take place at a secret location in Mussoorie as Pant and his family probably want to keep the ceremony private, with only close friends and family in attendance.
Sakshi Pant and her fiance Ankit Chaudhary got engaged after years of dating in January 2024. MS Dhoni and his wife Sakshi Dhoni attended the engagement ceremony and party of Rishabh Pant’s sister in London. Rishabh Pant and MS Dhoni share a strong bond during their time playing together for the country and even after the international retirement of the former India captain.
As per the reports, Team India skipper Rohit Sharma and star batter Virat Kohli are expected to attend Rishabh Pant’s sister’s wedding. Rohit and Kohli were also part of the Indian team that ended the 12-year Champions Trophy title drought with a four-wicket win over New Zealand in Dubai. Rohit Sharma received a rousing reception at the Mumbai airport upon his arrival from Dubai, while Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma stayed back in Dubai for a couple of days before returning to Dubai. However, neither player has officially confirmed their attendance at Rishabh Pant’s sister’s wedding ceremony.
Rishabh Pant’s sister Sakshi’s wedding ceremony is slated to take place on Wednesday, March 12. Thereafter, the 27-year-old will leave for Lucknow to join the LSG squad ahead of the IPL 2025. Pant was recruited by the Sanjeev Goenka-owned Lucknow Super Giants for a whopping INR 27 crore, making him the most expensive player in the history of the Indian Premier League. Rishabh Pant will be leading LSG in the upcoming IPL season as they quest for a maiden triumph in the tournament.
Rishabh Pant will play for a new IPL team after 8-year eight-year-long association with Delhi Capitals, where he began his IPL career in 2016 before he was released by the franchise ahead of the IPL 2024 auction. Though Delhi Capitals wanted to secure the services of their captain, they could not match the price offered by Lucknow Super Giants, who went all out to acquire the dynamic wicketkeeper-batter for a record-breaking INR 27 crore.
