FIFA U-17 World Cup: Goa asks schools to finish exams before Oct 7

Synopsis

Goa government has sent a circular to schools for rescheduling the exams for students. This move by the government is to help students watch the FIFA U-17 matches in their state. Goa will be hosting six group matches in total for Group C and D.

Ahead of FIFA Under-17 World Cup that will begin in India from October 7, Goa government has urged to schools for re-scheduling their timetable for first term exams. The circular has been sent to schools so that students get a chance to watch matches in their state.

Director Education G.P Bhat has sent a circular requesting all heads of schools to re-schedule the first term or summative exams to conclude on or before October 7.

The circular reads “In order to enable the students to witness the matches of once in a lifetime event, it is enjoined upon heads of all schools in the State to re-schedule the first terminal examination/summative examination so that it gets over on or before October 7, 2017.”

 “FIFA under 17 World Cup will be held in India with Goa hosting some matches from October 7 to October 21 at Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Fatorda,” the circular also says.

Starting from October 7, Goa will be hosting six group matches totally for Group C and D.

The match between Germany vs Costa Rica, and Iran vs Guinea will be played on October 7. Costa Rica vs Guinea and Iran vs Germany will participate on October 10. In the final group matches, Costa Rica vs Iran will be playing from Group C on October 13.

From Group D, Niger and Brazil will play against each other on October 13.
