Argentinian Juan Martin Del Potro, the 2009 US Open champion, has gained entry into the main draw of this year's French Open, thanks to his protected ranking from April 2014.
The hulking tennis player, who spent almost one year away from the game before returning to the court in February 2016, is currently ranked 339 in the world.
Delpo's best showing at the French Open came in 2009, when he reached the semifinals before losing to Roger Federer in five tough sets.
He last played at Roland Garros in 2012, losing in the quarters, again to Federer.
The French Open takes place from May 16 to June 5.
As a tune-up, Delpo will compete on clay in Munich and Madrid.
