
Argentine superstar Lionel Messi has added another feather in his cap. He has helped Barcelona win its record 31 st Copa del Rey title.
Barca was up against Athletic Bilbao on Saturday, as the former hammered the latter 4-0 at the Estadio La Cartuja de Sevilla. Messi managed to score a brace in the win.
The win allowed Messi to gain his 35th title at Camp Nou. Besides, it was also his seventh Copa del Rey title with the Catalan.
As for the game, it was all goalless at half time. However, Barca pressed on the attack mode in the second, with Antoine Griezmann (60) opening the scoring, followed by Frenkie de Jong (63), while Messi sealed it with a couple of winners at 68th and 72nd.

Meanwhile, Messi has managed to net his 30th goal of the season. As a result, it was his record 13th time when he managed to score 30 or more season goals consecutively.
“Today is a very happy day. It’s special to be the captain of this team where I’ve been playing all my life. It is a very special cup because this year is different, as a transition year with so many young players. The team is growing and we are also fighting for La Liga,” Messi told Barca TV following the win.
Meanwhile, Barca manager Ronald Koeman affirmed, “Messi is a winner. We have to talk about all our players because they deserve this title. But, Messi makes the difference. All of us want Messi to stay here.”
