Bhupender (38), Mohit (22), Gulab (24) and Manjeet (29) are the ones identified as accused. While the former three belong from the Jhajjar district of Haryana, the latter hails from Rohtak.

"They are active members of the Kala Asauda and Neeraj Bawana gangs and were arrested from Delhi's Kanjhawala area on Tuesday night. Non Bailable Warrants were also issued against them in connection with the incident," Delhi Police told PTI. It received a tip-off of the four associates while a special team raided and nabbed them from Rohini district.

"Acting upon the information, our team laid a trap near Ghewra railway crossing and apprehended all the four persons after their identification through a secret informer. They also said that they abandoned their vehicles and weapons at the spot of crime," said Pranav Tayal, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini district).

In the meantime, the Wrestling Federation of India is considering not renewing the contract of Sushil. However, it has clarified that it is purely based on performance and has nothing to do with his recent connection to the murder.

"It is clear that Sushil and Pooja (Dhanda) have not done anything notable since they were offered contracts. They will not make the cut when the review meeting is held next month," said a source from WFI.

Having been offered a ₹30 lakh contract, Sushil failed to win a medal during the Asian Games 2018 in Jakarta, while he was ousted in the opening round of the World Championship 2019. "All decisions will be made at the meeting only. But, one thing is sure that sponsors' money will not be distributed for nothing. We have to utilise the money wisely," said Vinod Tomar, WFI Assitant Secretary.
