Burnley vs Manchester United: Preview, team news and probable lineups

Synopsis

Manchester United are on an 22-match unbeaten streak in Premier League.  With a win against Burnley, they will inch closer to Manchester City in the fourth position.

Manchester United will travel to Turf Moor to take on Burnley in a Premier League encounter on Sunday. This is an extremely crucial game for the Red Devils as they have that one-game advantage over Manchester City and they are their next opponent. So this is indeed a golden opportunity to inch closer to that elusive top four.

Burnley frustrated Jose Mourinho's men at the Old Trafford in the previous meeting as they held them to a goalless draw. Mourinho knows the importance of this match and that one-game in hand advantage. Therefore, he would want nothing but those three points.

Manchester United have been hit by injuries since the start of the season. Now they will have to add Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcus Rojo to that list as well. These two players have been ruled out for the rest of the season. Ibrahimovic, who has scored 28 goals for the Red Devils in this season, will be out till January 2018.

The Clarets have had a brilliant season so far and they are expected to put up a spirited show against this strong United side yet again. But it will be an uphill task for them. Currently, they are placed in the 14th spot in the Premier League points table.

Probable lineups:

Burnley: Tom Heaton; Matt Lowton, Michael Keane, Ben Mee, Stephen Ward; Kris Boyd, Joey Barton, Jeff Hendrick, Robbie Brady; Ashley Barnes, Andre Gray.

Manchester United: David De Gea; Antonio Valencia, Eric Bailly, Daley Blind, Luke Shaw; Michael Carrick, Paul Pogba, Ander Herrera; Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard.
