On Tuesday, Indians swept all the three medals in men's F54/55/56 discus throw event with Neeraj Yadav winning the gold with the Games and Asian record distance of 38.56m. Yogesh Kathuniya (42.13m) and Muthuraja (35.06m) were second and third respectively.
India had another exceptional day yesterday, clinching a total of 17 medals, including three gold, which brought their overall tally to an impressive 34 medals in just the first two days of competition. This achievement follows their remarkable performance on Monday when they secured 17 medals, including a remarkable six gold medals.
As Day 2 came to a close, India found itself in the fifth position in the overall standings, a slight dip from Monday's fourth-place standing. The Indian contingent as on Tuesday collected an impressive haul of nine gold medals, along with 12 silver and 13 bronze medals.
In the rankings, they trailed behind the likes of China, leading with a staggering 165 medals (66 gold, 53 silver, 46 bronze), followed by Iran, Japan, and Uzbekistan. These early successes underline India's growing prowess in the sporting arena at the Hangzhou Asian Para Games.
