Are Manchester United ready to face West Ham in EFL Cup quarter final?

Synopsis

Paul Pogba and Marouane Fellaini will be missing from the playing XI as they both have been suspended for a match each. Manchester United have drawn their last four home league games.

Manchester United will be facing West Ham United in the quarter final of the EFL cup on Wednesday night and they hosts have a number of issues to deal with. Just four days after The Hammers drew against the Red Devils at the same venue in a Premier League encounter; here they are again ready to lock horns.

United manager Jose Mourinho will be aware of the fact that United have drawn their last four home league games. It is nothing but obvious that the Portuguese manager will not want to draw this quarter final against the East London Outfit.

But he has a number of important players missing from this match because they have been handed one match ban each. Paul Pogba and Marouane Fellaini will be missing from the action.

There is no news on Michael Carrick’s minor injury as well. In that case, it is for sure that Bastian Schweinsteiger will be starting for Manchester United for the first time in this ongoing season. It will be interesting to see how he copes up with this challenge and that too in a crucial game like the EFL Cup quarter final, at this juncture of his career.

Wayne Rooney has to step up as Marcus Rashford has not been in form of late. Henrikh Mkhitariyan is also likely to start for the Red Devils after his back-to-back impressive show against Feyenoord and the Hammers.
