Two persons were feared killed after a portion of an old three-storied building collapsed at Hanuman Tekri in Bhiwandi, Mumbai during the wee hours of Sunday. At least six persons were trapped under the debris.
Five families were staying in the building which the city officials had declared 'dangerous' and not fit of occupation. The rescue operations are on and the Fire and Rescue team saved one person.
Authorities claimed that an evacuation notice had been served to the occupants two days back. This is the second major building collapse in the town in a week. Nine lives had lost when a three-storied building collapsed on 31 July.
