Synopsis

Shivakumar, an employee of Accord Laser, visited a Canara Bank branch  to withdraw ₹3.75 lakh. As soon as he stepped out of the bank, a masked man held him at gunpoint and demanded to hand over the money.

A man working in a private company was attacked by a masked man outside a bank in Bengaluru on Wednesday.

Shivakumar, an employee of Accord Laser, visited the Canara Bank branch in Bommasandra industrial area near Anekal to withdraw ₹3.75 lakh to pay salaries to the employees.

As soon as he stepped out of the bank, a masked man held Shivakumar at gunpoint and demanded to hand over the money.

Shivakumar tried to draw the attention of the auto drivers who were present at the scene. When the autorickshaw drivers approached them, the masked man with the gun threatened to open fire. After snatching the bag with the money from Shivakumar, the attacker fled the scene on a Duke bike.

Witnesses claim that the masked man was working with a partner who rode the bike.

The incident was reported to the Hebbagodi police yesterday.
