In what may be seen as yet another incident of moral policing in Kerala, a youth was attacked by a gang on Monday night. Shahin of Panavila Veedu in Perayam, Kollam, was attacked supposedly for being in a relationship with a girl. 
 

The incident took place at Pinakkal, Kollam. Shahin was on his way to book a catering service for a marriage. He was travelling in a car along with his friends when two men intercepted them on a motorcycle. 
 

The men questioned Shahin and abused him verbally and called few others who joined them to thrash the youth. He was beaten with rods and suffered injuries to his backbone, eyes and ears.

Police said the youth was in a relationship with a girl in the locality and the men attacked him alleging that he came there to meet the girl. Shahin also said that he was having an affair and was attacked over the issue. 
 

Eravipuram police have launched an investigation based on a complaint filed by the youth.
