When the state is reeling under protests and bandhs over the Cauvery water Supreme Court verdict, Shaw decided to keep her office open on bandh day. She also tweeted saying the city should be renamed as ‘Bandhaluru’. “She has lost her mental balance and she should be admitted at mental hospital,” Vatal retorted in anger.

He also said that the IT companies need Karnataka only to do their business but when issues such as the water crisis are raised, they do not cooperate.

Shaw’s tweet has also invited massive public censure on social media. She has reiterated that she is pro-farmer but the debate is raging on Twitter right now.

Vatal also lashed out at Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa for her efforts to get more water by filing a fresh application before the Cauvery Neeravari Nigam through the TN chief secretary.

“TN is very greedy. They are demanding water from Karnataka when our state is facing serious drinking water issues. What is worse is that the Karnataka government, which earlier said that it will not release water to TN has not lived up to its words.

“Siddaramaiah has released the water, it is a matter of shame that his government could not protect the state’s interests," said Vatal.

Dubbing Nariman as 'weak', Vatal said, “Back-to-back failures to get justice for Karnataka has exposed Nariman's lack of legal strength.

"He could not get justice in the Mahadayi case and now, post orders from SC on Cauvery, it is evident that, this person cannot do much to help Karnataka," he argued.

Shaw, for her part, sent out a series of tweets explaining her stand
