Both Muslim and Hindu community members spiritedly participated in the Mother Mary celebrations The St. Mary's Car festival moved along on the busy roads and lanes of Shivajinagar, which was packed with people 

A huge congregation of devotees assembled in their thousands in the courtyard of the St Mary's Church in Bengaluru, as the air was filled with praises for Mother Mary in a chorus that spread an air of bonhomie and cheer.

 

In fact, the formal inauguration of the Mother Mary festival was held on on August 29 by hoisting a flag. Special mass and prayers were held every day in the Church since then from dawn to dusk, as a part of celebrations.


Arch Bishop of Bengaluru, Bernard Blasius Moras, had prayed in Kannada and Tamil for the overall well-being and prosperity of society. 

 

Both Muslim and Hindu community members spiritedly participated in the Mother Mary celebrations and also disbursed sweets and ‘prasads’ to the huge congregation that assembled. 

 

The St. Mary's Car festival moved along on the busy roads and lanes of Shivajinagar, which was packed with people on several buildings, complexes, apartments for a glimpse of the pompous festival.


Given St. Mary's celebrations, the Bengaluru Traffic Police had made deviations to traffic movement to ease congestion near the Basilica and its surrounding areas as a precautionary measure.
