The Kerala state government will take strict actions to make police force free from politics. It is reported that the government is set to rule the force with an iron fist to check politicisation.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan may declare the government’s stand on the matter in the state meet of Kerala police association on Sunday, May 13, at Vadakara. The government is taking a stand against the force after the intelligence department has reported politicisation of police by examining the association meets.

Intelligence ADGP TK Vinod Kumar has given reports to DGP pointing out an incident in which police officials raised martyr’s slogan. The report demanded immediate action against politicisation of police and wanted to avoid martyr commemorations.

Changing the colour of the association’s logo by violating the norms was also noted in the report. DGP Lokanath Behera has handed over the report to the government. The government has taken the report seriously and has said that it will act accordingly.
