Governor omits CPM leader Rasheed's name from the government list

Synopsis

Kerala Governor P Sathasivan omitted CPM leader AA Rasheed's name from the list of persons submitted by the government for various posts at State Information Commission.  The earlier chairman Vinson M Paul is continuing in the position.

Kerala Governor P Sathasivan omitted CPM leader AA Rasheed's name from the list of persons submitted by the government for various posts at State Information Commission.

The government had sent five names to the governor, out of which he has approved the names of KV Sudhakaran, who is the Press Secretary of VS Achuthanandan, PR Sreelatha, an official at the Secretariat, Somadasan Pillai and RG  Vivekanandan.

However, Rasheed whose name has been omitted is an advocate and Trivandrum district committee member. Rasheed is known as a close friend of the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Kodiyeri Balakrishnan. He was alleged of favouring illegal appointments at University. Currently, there is no change in the post of Information Commission Chairman. The earlier chairman Vinson M Paul is continuing in the position.
