Actor Jayaram to lead Kerala Royals at Celebrity Badminton League
Synopsis
India’s first Celebrity Badminton League (CBL) was launched a few days back. Four teams representing the South Indian film industry will participate in the league. The inaugural match will be played in Chennai on September 17.
The 11-member Kerala team for the Celebrity Badminton League (CBL) will be led by actor Jayaram. The team, Kerala Royals, was announced on Thursday.
"Badminton is a part of my daily life just as the favourite 'Chenda,' (traditional drum)," said Jayaram, who is also a highly talented percussionist.
Actress Parvathy Nambiar, a state junior badminton player, will also play for Kerala Royals. Other members include Rajeev Pillai, who rose to fame with his excellent knocks in the Celebrity Cricket League, actors Naren, Shekhar Menon, Saiju Kurup and actresses Mamta Mohandas and Ranjini Haridas.

The inaugural match will be played on September 17, matches will also be hosted across the other southern centres such as Kochi, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
CBL season 1 has four celebrity teams representing Kollywood, Mollywood, Sandalwood and Tollywood. The teams are named Chennai Rockers, Kerala Royals, Karnataka Alps and Tollywood Thunders.
