Two persons have died and eight workers have sustained severe injuries after a two-storey under construction building collapsed at the Film City in Hyderabad The deceased have been identified as Ansar Sheikh, a native of Kolkata and Anand, of Hyderabad, said police

 

Two persons have died and eight workers have sustained severe injuries after a two-storey under construction building collapsed at the Film City in Hyderabad.


Three more workers are suspected to been caught under the debris. Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation and National Disaster Management Authorities are overseeing rescue operations.

 

The deceased have been identified as Ansar Sheikh, a native of Kolkata and Anand, of Hyderabad, said police.

 

Eight injured, rescued by local residents, have been shifted to Apollo Hospital, which is close to the accident site. The mishap occurred at the Film City, where the building was being constructed as part of an expansion project.

 

An official said that the ownership of the land was in dispute and the matter had been referred to the court. After hearing the case, the court had given permission to carry on with further construction.
