How AIADMK’s own channel declared Jayalalithaa dead

When the news of jayalalithaa’s death was broadcasted on the pro-Jayalalithaa media, others channels too followed it. The rumour-based news even resulted in the AIADMK office lowering the flag at its office in Chennai. Later when the death rumours was denied by the Apollo Hospital, the AIADMK members raised the flag again.

When the situation was going out of control and supporters started pelting stones at the Apollo Hospital, where Jayalalithaa was being treated, the hospital issued a statement that Jayalalithaa was responding to the treatment and that she was not dead.

After the statement was issued, the Jaya TV was slammed for airing a lie, creating unrest in the state.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa was declared dead by doctors at Apollo Hospital in Chennai at 11:30 pm on December 5, after a prolonged illness and cardiac arrest. 

 

Hailed as 'Puratchi Thalaivi' (Revolutionary Leader), Jayalalithaa proved wrong all calculations. She was sworn in as CM five times-1991-96, May-Sept 2001, 2002-06, 2011-14, 2015-16.
