Drivers protest to hit Ola, Uber services in Bengaluru

Synopsis

The cabbies will carry out a city wide protest on January 22. The cab drivers protest against the harassment by Ola, Uber.

The drivers’ association is staging a protest on January 22 over the harassment faced by the drivers from the Taxi app aggregator companies. The cab drivers also are protesting the ‘unscientific’ rules being imposed by Transport departments.

 

“Drivers feel they are being tortured by the management of Ola and Uber, fixing of rates in an unscientific way, increasing commission rates,” said Tanveer Pasha, president of the association. 

 

“Besides that they are enraged at the unjustified demands from the Transport departments, “ Pasha added.

 

Several state leaders such as HD Kumaraswamy have given their support to the drivers’ associations.
