DC Shikha case: Karnataka CM's aide under judicial custody

Synopsis

Siddaramaiah's close aide Marigowda to held in judicial custody for 14 days Marigowda had been accused of threatening Mysuru deputy commissioner C Shikha

Close aide of CM Karnataka Marigowda, who was accused of threatening Mysuru deputy commissioner C Shikha, has at last been remanded to 14 days judicial custody. His case will be heard today.

A large number of people gathered and he had to be pulled out of the crowd to produce him to the JMFC court in Mysuru.

After absconding for nearly a month, Marigowda surrendered to Nazarbad Police in Mysuru on Wednesday. He was taken to KR Hospital for a medical check-up.

Marigowda was accused of disrupting Shikha from performing her duties and also threatened her.

Fifteen days ago, his family was also missing, and his house in the city was locked. Meanwhile, Marigowda tried to get anticipatory bail but failed in his attempt. He had also applied for bail just two days ago, but the High Court rejected that plea as well.

So now that all his efforts of getting anticipatory bail failed, he finally appeared before the Nazarbad Police, along with his lawyer and surrendered.

DC Shikha had personally filed a complaint with the police, but it took one month for the accused to be behind the bars.

However, it is tragic that the police couldn’t trace him and waited for him to surrender.

If this is the case of a deputy commissioner, what are the chances of an ordinary man getting justice?
