Recently Rahul Gandhi, Vice-President of the Indian National Congress party, had asked Congress workers to 'serve' the people standing in the queue with water and fruit juice.
Following this instruction, Dinesh Gundu Rao, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee working president, Pramod, BBMP member, and other Congress leaders and workers distributed water, fruit juice, snacks and cakes to people standing before banks in Cottonpet, Bengaluru.
Speaking to the media, Dinesh Gundu Rao said “People are standing since early morning and waiting for hours to exchange their currency. Hence we decided to continue this service for another few weeks.”
Cottenpet aside, whether the Congress will extend its services to the rest of the city is yet to be seen.
