Bengaluru: 19-month baby survives three-storey fall

Synopsis

This incident has left doctors astonished as a fall from 25 feet would kill an adult. But this 19-month-old child not only survived a fall from a three-storey building, but also has made a fast recovery without a surgery.

Toddler Tanisha was playing with her older brother when she ran into the balcony and slipped through the gap in railings and plunged three floors. The child fell with a loud thud and lost consciousness. The child's father told Bangalore Mirror that they found Tanisha lying on the unconscious after hitting the concrete slab.

"She [her mother] splashed some water on the child's face and surprisingly she regained consciousness after which we rushed her to Sapthagiri Hospital," Mahender told BM.

At the hospital, the doctors found no external bleeding, following which the family moved the child to another hospital in Dasarahalli.

According to doctors, the fall would have killed even an adult. Tanisha did not even need a surgery and doctors told Bangalore Mirror that her skull fracture would heal over a period of time.
