Cauvery violence fallout: Two DCPs transferred in Bengaluru

Synopsis

TR Suresh,  DCP, North Division, has been transferred as the Superintendent of Police (SP), CID (Cyber wing).    Ajay Hilori, DCP, West division, has been transferred as DCP, City Armed Reserve Headquarters

Close on the heels of the violent Cauvery protests that claimed a life and resulted in significant losses and damage to properties in Bengaluru City, the Karnataka government has transferred two Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCP) from the city.                                        

       

TR Suresh,  DCP, North Division, has been transferred as the Superintendent of Police (SP), CID (Cyber wing).   

 

In his place, Labhu Ram, Superintendents of Police (SP), Anti-Corruption Bureau, will be taking charge with immediate effect.                      

 

During the violence on September 12, it was in the North Division that- two deaths were reported, attributed to a police firing and a lathi charge.                                   

 

Similarly, Ajay Hilori, DCP, West division, has been transferred with immediate effect as Deputy Commissioner of Police,  City Armed Reserve Headquarters, Bengaluru.  

 

In the West Division, vandals torched some 30 buses belonging to the Salem-based KPN travels and also set a few lorries on fire.

 

In his place,  Anuchet MN,  SP, Chitradurga, has been posted. Arun Ranga Raja,  SP, Kolar Gold Fields, will take charge as SP, Chitradurga in place of Anuchet.
