Cashless Guntur devotees cannot complete Ayyappa Temple journey

Almost 100 devotees who want to complete their journey to Ayyappa Temple in Kerala lamented the cashless situation. A devotee needs at least ₹10,000 in cash to complete the journey from Guntur to Ayyappa Temple in Kerala.
The country has been facing the after effects of demonetisation. In a drive to go cashless, a number of remote places and towns have struggled. Many people in these rural areas hardly have any idea about going cashless. Now devotees of Ayyappa Temple in Guntur are facing the cash crunch.
They want to complete their journey to Ayyappa Temple in Kerala but they do not have enough cash to do so. As a sign of protest, they cooked and served food in front of Central bank of India.
Almost 100 devotees lamented the situation. They have waited for hours in front of the bank but they were disappointed.
They are in dire need of cash and unfortunately the smaller currencies have been banned. It seems that per person they need at least ₹10,000 in cash to complete the journey from Guntur to Ayyappa Temple in Kerala.
