Now, BJP wants to purge Kerala of Che Guevara

Synopsis

Che is an evil influence on Kerala youths: BJP leader 'Che's portraits should be removed from villages.'

After exhorting 'anti-nationals' to leave India for Pakistan or Arab countries, BJP in Kerala now seeks to rescue the state from the 'evil spell' of Latin American revolutionary Ernesto Che Guevara.

Che Guevara's place is among the Italian dictator Benito Mussolini, Hitler and Stalin. His portrait should not be kept along with Gandhiji, Vivekananda and Mother Teresa, BJP state general secretary AN Radhakrishnan at a press conference in Kozhikode. Che created unrest in the whole world, he added.

The Latin American revolutionary's picture should be removed from the villages of Kerala. He is an evil influence on the youths and inspired by his life, the youths of Communist party are prompted to engage in violence, the BJP leader said. "Why don't they (Communists) use portraits of EMS Namboothirippad or AK Gopalan, instead of Che," he quipped.
