KG road sinks by 10 feet after heavy rains in Bengaluru

Synopsis

The incident occurred after a heavy travelling vehicle passed by. The road sunk close to the metro tunnel construction on KG Road. A similar incident had occurred in January 2012 near the Lalbagh west gate.

The floods caused by heavy rains last week not only clogged the Bengaluru roads but also worsened its condition.

A patch of land near the Adiga's restaurant on Kempegowda Road where the metro tunnel construction has been going on sunk by 10 feet today, at 10 am. The incident occurred soon after a heavy travelling vehicle (HTV) passed by the road.

The metro authorities arrived at the spot immediately. The authorities confirmed that the road didn't sunk because of metro construction but was the result of heavy rainfall. This incident will not affect the metro construction, the officials said.

A similar incident had occurred in January 2012 near the Lalbagh west gate.
