Accidental love affair ends in gang rape
Synopsis
Love blossomed between Girish and the victim, when she called his phone by mistake three months ago.
Girish, a resident of Chikkaballapur, asked the Tumkur girl to come over to his place assuring her that he intended to marry her.
Despite knowing nothing about his background, her faith in his promise prompted her to travel to Chikkaballapur where she spent a few days with Girish. One fine day, he suddenly vanished from the village.
Distraught and lost, the girl sought solace and refuge with a few of his friends. The alleged friends lured her into an autorikshaw under the pretence of taking her back safely to her village. Instead, they took her to a secluded area and raped her continuously for two days.
On the second day of her capture, a police patrol near Dinne hosa halli road passed by the area. As soon as they saw the police, the men tried to make a run for it.
Struck by their shifty behaviour, the police immediately took them into custody and began questioning them; the men finally broke down and confessed to their crime.
The police arrested the four rapists and had the girl admitted to the Chikkaballapur district hospital.
She will be admitted to a counselling centre after her medical treatment.
