  1. Don’t carry all your money in one place like your bag or purse. Ensure you distribute it, and hide it among your clothes, hidden pockets etc
     


     

  2. Leave the do-not-disturb tag on your hotel room door. If that is not available, place a chair against the door after you’ve bolted it
     


     
  3. Keys are your primary defence. Hold them between your fingers
