RBI to print new ₹50, ₹20 notes, another demonetisation on the way?

Already hit by demonetisation of ₹500 and ₹1000 notes, people are struggling to withdraw money as well as to get change for ₹2000 note. Now the news of printing of new ₹50 and ₹20 notes has surprised people.

 

But the RBI has clarified that the currently used ₹50 and ₹20 will be in circulation even after printing the new notes, which will be available to the people soon.

However, the new notes will have an additional letter ‘L’ printed and will have the new RBI governor Urjit Patel’s signature. The notes will have rest of the features including the picture of Mahatma Gandhi as in the current notes.
