The facilities accepting ₹500 old note till midnight are:
- Payments in government hospitals
- To make payments in all pharmacies on production of doctor's prescription and proof of identity
- Railway ticket counters of government or Public Sector Undertakings buses
- To make purchases at consumer cooperative stores under Central or state governments (identity proof is a must)
- To purchase milk at booths under Central or state governments
- To make payments at crematorium and burial grounds
- To purchase LPG gas cylinders
- Payments to catering services on board, during travel by rail
- To purchase tickets for travel by suburban rail and metro rail services
- To purchase entry tickets for monuments maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India
- To pay fees, taxes, penalties to the Central or state governments including Municipal and local bodies
- To pay the utility charges for water and electricity bills
- To purchase seeds from outlets of Central or state-run units
- To pay school fees up to ₹2,000 per student in Centre, state-run, municipality and local body schools and colleges
- Pre- paid mobile top-up to a maximum limit of ₹500 per top-up
