Truist Says Matthews Faces A ‘Perfect Storm’ Of Bad Conditions

Truist initiated coverage of Matthews International with a ‘Hold’ rating and a $24 price target, citing weak operating trends, execution risks and high leverage. The firm said Matthews faces a “perfect storm” of bad conditions across its three main business segments, according to The Fly.

Underperformance in fiscal 2026 has already prompted the company to cut its guidance twice over the past two quarters, Truist said. Matthews cut full-year adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) guidance to $158 million to $162 million.

Earlier this month, Matthews reported a 30% decline in third-quarter sales and a 78.6% plunge in earnings per share. Both results missed Wall Street expectations, according to Fiscal.ai.

Retail sentiment surrounding MATW on Stocktwits remained ‘bullish’ over the past 24 hours. The stock has declined around 17% so far this year.

OSIS Q4 Revenue Miss Leads To Price Cuts

OSI Systems drew several price-target cuts after its fiscal fourth-quarter revenue fell short of Wall Street expectations. Revenue came in at $484 million, well below the $529.7 million consensus estimate, according to Fiscal.ai.

B. Riley lowered OSIS’ target to $265 from $320, while Roth Capital reduced the price target to $274 from $310, citing OSI’s Q4 revenue miss and fiscal 2027 guidance, whose midpoint was slightly below Wall Street estimates. However, both have a ‘Buy’ rating on the stock.

Meanwhile, Oppenheimer cut its price target to $300 from $320 but maintained an ‘Outperform’ rating.

Retail sentiment surrounding OSIS on Stocktwits turned ‘neutral’ from ‘bullish’ over the past 24 hours. The stock has declined around 22% so far this year.
