Kerala government want CBI to probe Jishnu case: CM

Chief Minister said the matter had been conveyed to DGP There are some legal hurdles in ordering a CBI probe: CM Jishnu's relatives had sought a CBI probe into his death

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said that the government is also of the opinion that the death of Jishnu Pranoy must be probed by CBI. He also stated that the matter had been conveyed to Jishnu's father and the DGP.

The Chief Minister made the statement while visiting CPM district committee office in Kozhikode. It was destroyed in a bomb attack the other day. 

Speaking to reporters, Pinarayi said that Jishnu's father had made the demand to DGP earlier. "I would like to inform them that I have already given instructions to hand over the case to CBI. However, there are some legal hurdles in ordering a CBI probe," he said.

Jishnu's parents and relatives had sought a CBI probe into his death and had filed a complaint in this regard. Jishnu's father had met the CM at Kozhikode guest house on Tuesday and handed over a letter seeking CBI probe. His mother Mahija had on the other day said that she will meet CM seeking CBI probe and that the government did not keep its promise.
